The sweetest sight.
April 19, 2011

After a late night filled with bitter herbs and dayenu, I wake up to your ten little piggies in the dark before morning begins.  This is always, Charlotte, my very favorite way to start a day.  I wait for the moon to be pushed aside by the sun, for the light of the morning to peek in through the windows and kiss your toes.  Before it does, in those moments before you wake, I breathe you in and pull you close and whisper sweet rhyming nothings in your ear.  Oh, how I love you so.

Silvery,
Silvery,
Over the
Trees,
The moon drifts
By on a
Runaway
Breeze.

Dozily,
Dozily,
Deep in her
Bed,
A little girl
Dreams with the
Moon in her
Head.

The most precious of moments, of pictures, of memories. You will never be able to look back and think ‘oh, I just didn’t appreciate it all.“  And yet you might. It’s all so fleeting and intense and new. But your blog will remind you how very “present” you were. You’re a wonderful mama, Sarah.

That really makes me appreciate my kids a lot. I know it sounds cliche but they grow up so fast. People say that all the time but until you experience this, you never realize the feeling. Thanks for the memories.
