It’s official: I need a haircut.
January 31, 2012

I know because yesterday I asked Charlotte to lean forward and grab my knees so that I could wipe her bottom and I wound up with toddler poop all over the bottom six inches of my hair.  Which means that, OF COURSE, it wound up on my daughter’s back and on my sweater before I knew what was happening.

On the one hand, nothing is more humbling than motherhood.

On the other hand: Ew.  Just ewwwwwwwwwwwww.

In unrelated news, I realize that posting here has been very light recently and I’ve received a few concerned e-mails.  Please rest assured that everything is fine; we’re just burning the candle at both ends right now, but definitely in a good way.

I feel your pain - about the hair and about burning the candle.  Hang in there!

OMG…the wonderful things that await me. I can’t wait, or maybe I can, for a little while longer :o) Post soon, we miss you!!

Poop in hair, wow. We haven’t gotten there yet, thank goodness. Of course, having a hairdresser as a BF helps keep my locks trimmed. Don’t work yourself too hard, and I hope things are coming well with your adoption process.

Oh, and I think it is time you pampered yourself with a haircut. ;)

I am getting a haircut TOMORROW (yay!) for a similar reason. I ended up with infant crap in my hair. I’m not even sure how, but I do know I didn’t notice it until I was checking out at the grocery store, haha.

    Time for the “mom-cut!“ lol

I donated my hair to locks of love years ago. Around the time I had my first, it was approaching the length I could donate again. I thought if I got a really short cut I could donate it. Well, I guess the hair stylist didn’t understand the importance of me wanting to donate it, so didn’t make the initial cut long enough… Leaving me with a horrible/super short cut ‘ for bothing’. So, now here I am feeling the mom-bob-cut itch and insisting I keep growing because I WILL make it long enough to donate again!

Alicia K - I grow my hair out for donation too, which is why it’s so long right now.  But sometime in the next week or two, it is chopping time!!

Bahaha!  Sorry.  I do always appeciate that you post the flattering Sarah Is An Awesome Mama stories AND the not-necessarily-the-most-flattering Sarah-Is-A-Human-Being-Too stories. :)

Also, post more. ;)  Hannah needs her Charlotte fix.  Me too.
