A little special something I want to never forget.
March 29, 2012

Charlotte calls them her “friends” and they have been turning up all asleep all around our house for months.  A monkey sleeping in the pantry.  A horse sleeping on the couch.  A puppy sleeping on the bookcase.  A bear sleeping on the floor.  A mouse sleeping in her bed.

It happens every day and I finally got off my useless ass and started taking pictures of a few of them last week.  Then yesterday I snapped a few of her in the act of putting her puppy down for a nap – and I couldn’t possibly NOT share.

** Charlotte is two years and eight months old.

This is actually one of the things I cherish most about my son.  He always has a space on his pillow at night for his animals, and they always have to have a portion of his blanket.  He will scoot over and go, “here you go Bear” and tuck them in all gentle.

I love the picture of the bear getting tucked in with a book.

How, how, HOW are you so good about remembering to document the little things like this? Matthew has put his puppy (he’s really attached to this one particular puppy) down for a nap everyday for about the past year. It’s this big production too: he makes a bed for him on his bedroom floor out of the same hideous Giants blanket someone brought us back free from a football game once, and all of the pillows from off of his bed. He’ll stop in the middle of a totally random activity to go find puppy and lay him down when he realizes it’s time. It’s one of those things that’s just become so routine I totally forget to take pictures or write about it… even though these are exactly the types of things I want to remember most when he’s older.

Hannah does the same thing - she pulls pillows off the sofa for “beds,“ or I find loveys wrapped in blankets settled on the stairs.  I love that Charlotte put one to bed with books as blankets - now THAT is awesome. :)

Emilie - LOL!  It’s a bikini top.  I gave it to her awhile ago and she usually uses it as a baby sling for the monkey but lately it’s been a blanket too =)

This is too adorable. Like the most adorable thing I’ve seen all week. And I just watched Little Miss Sunshine, which is a pretty adorable movie, though not nearly as adorable as Charlotte and her tucked-in stuffed animals.
