A cute French story.
May 23, 2012

The other day at the park, a kid slightly older than Charlotte saw a cat hanging out in a tree near the playground.  “VEO UN GATO!” he screamed in Spanish.  I see a cat!

Charlotte only heard “gato.”

“Gato” (cat) sounds very similar to “gateau” (cake).

“OU EST LE GATEAU?!  OU EST LE GATEAU?!  JE VEUX LE GATEAU!” she started screaming happily back.  Where’s the cake?  Where’s the cake?  I want cake!

** Charlotte is two years and ten months old.  I am sixteen weeks pregnant.

Hahahaha love it! I still remember thinking what was the big deal with cats and my little french cousins, they kept asking about them when they came for Christmas! Exactly the opposite story LOL

    Hahaha! hilarious!

My Spanish teacher in HS once told the nuns (when she was in HS, lived in Spain and was at Catholic school) Estoy embarazada. This does not mean I’m embarassed (as she thought) but I’m pregnant. The nuns were horrified and she couldn’t figure out why.

    Ah, fun with languages.

Also, I know embarrassed is spelled with two rs. Sorry.
