These two.

Donald and I share an e-mail address which has, of late, been aflurry with activity as several individuals from our adoption agency have been working to update our profiles and organize our paperwork and clarify this, that, or the other thing.  As a result, I have been an emotional mess.

You know how it goes, right?  I’m pregnant, which means I’m a hormonal monsoon.  Plus I’m talking about adoption, which means I’m a hormonal monsoon.  Plus I’m learning about new worries and new issues and new restrictions (this pregnancy has really done a number on our family-planning), which means I’m a hormonal monsoon.

Three monsoons = MASSIVE FORCE OF DESTRUCTION.  See also: my rear end after nine months of pregnancy.  Just warning you now, so that you know not to get in my way in October.

At any rate, as the emotions - the fear, the worry, the frustration, the anger, the resentment, the aching - ebb and flow, I keep coming back to this picture of Donald and Charlotte.  Last week, Donald worked from home so that he could take care of a family errand on his lunch break.  Charlotte ran herself ragged enjoying every last minute with him around and when the day was through, she cuddled up beside him and just.fell.asleep.  And, for awhile, our house was quiet and calm and peaceful while my husband cradled his baby.

** Charlotte is two years and ten months old.  I am eighteen weeks pregnant.

I’ve always been curious about why couples choose to share an email address. Random, I know. But still, I’m interested. How did that come about? Is it an email address created specifically for the adoption process? Now that I think of it my husband and I shared one during our engagement/ wedding planning etc. but it didn’t really stick around after that. Anyhow, maybe I just answered my own question. However, if there’s more to it and you are inclined to share I’d love to her your thoughts. Congrats to you and your lovely little family!

Nicole - We created it when we were getting married so that all the wedding stuff was in one place.  Now it’s really just a dumping place lol.  We use it for the stuff that applies to both of us - adoption e-mails, contact and photos from friends and family, registration for things like netflix, etc.  I check it more often than Donald does, which has basically been consistent the entire duration of the account.  We both have one e-mail address outside of the joint account that we use primarily.

I had a moment EXACTLY like this with Cole this morning!  After a shower, he just climbed up into my lap and fell asleep.  It was such a sweet moment.
