May sleeping dogs lie.
June 16, 2010

Lately, my daughter is MUCH too busy to sleep.  She has things to do!  Places to go!  People to see!  Diapers to sully!  Playrooms to vandalize!  Cats’ tails to pull!  And unfortunately for me, winning the great battle called Naptime turns out not to be at all about the size of the dog in the fight, but instead about the size of the fight in the dog.  And my little cutie patootie has some fight in her, LET ME TELL YOU.

Of course, it also turns out that there is fight in this old dog yet.

Adorable pictures.  But aren’t you afraid the camera will wake her up?  Or do you have a super silent camera?
I have very few pictures of my kid sleeping - and those were taken on the days where her nap went almost too long and I needed her to wake up.  Those days are very few and far between!

This is adorable - you always take such gorgeous photos. How do you put many photos into one collage photo?

Krista - That’s why you see so few photos of her asleep!  I only break out the camera when I know she’s so far gone that she’ll never wake up!

You think of it as sleeping. She thinks of it as recharging. Look out Sarah!

That is a cute baby.  She must have been really tuckered out to sleep through your photo shoot with that light. :)

And no - your are not a prude.  12 year olds should not be kissing and if they are, I don’t want to see it!

My oldest took naps like a champ, my youngest never took naps at all after the age on one! I gave up, since she was always so fun to be around, and would then just go to bed in the evening at a decent hour, so I stopped fighting it.

Charlotte is so big now!! Her hair is so beautiful.

Kudos on winning the nap time battle. We are struggling with nap times also. I’m terrified to take sleeping pictures, for fear i will wake the beast.

I love sleeping babies.  We’re fighting the nap battle right now.  At least Daddy is - I’ve fled the scene waving my white flag of surrender…

Now I just want to cuddle up in the sunshine and nap with my littles.  They are so precious when they sleep.

I love her little chunky cheeks!
