I have fallen in love with Skippyjon Jones. I read the books to my 11 month old son all the time and we can’t get through them with out lots of giggles!
With all the publicity for the upcoming movie, I’m reminded how much I loved Ramona Quimby when I was about 6 or 7 years old. She was so spunky!

My favorite character was probably the Berenstein Bears (er, family of characters).
The Boxcar Children were my favorite. I know they’re chapter books, but I remember my mom reading them to me when I was 3 or 4 years old. I’ve loved them ever since!

I really enjoyed Amelia Bedelia as a child. My 6 mo old seems to prefer the Dr. Seuss books. I have a few of them memorized and I find myself speaking in rhymes when I’m talking to my husband :)
i love reading the Dr. Seuss books a lot! my daughter really enjoys it though her attention span is rather limited at 4 months.

ok… My sister and I lllloooooooovvvvveeedddddd babar! In fact, as I was going through Good night Gorilla with my daughter for the first time, I saw a babar book laying open in the elephant cage. Omg. How cute is that!? I called my sister and told her right away. In the meantime, my husband just ouldnt understand why I was squealing about an elephant book. Lol.

My son loves books about vehicles and adores Dump Truck Dan and Jack Truck from Jon Scieszka’s Trucktown Series. Both my kids also love the Pigeon in the Mo Willems books. Thanks for the introduction to this series about two siblings. I’m sure my kids would love to read them with me.

So, I thought I had commented, but apparently, I didn’t. I’m a dork. Anyway, my childhood faves were the Babysitter’s Club. I loved those books. I remember staying up way late into the night, reading with a flashlight so my mom wouldn’t come in and tell me to go to bed.
When I really young, I remember reading the Berenstein Bears a lot. I really liked those too.

I LOVE children’s books! In fact, my girlfriends threw me a “children’s book” shower, asking the guests to bring THEIR favorite story book as a child and to jot a note to Lailey, my then, unborn daughter, inside the book. It started her library out with a LOT of books and we read them every single day. I do not remember being read to much as a very young child, but my first memory of LOVING a book was the Miss Piggle Wiggle series.

I love the animals in the Sandra Boynton books. They are simple and silly. The best part for me, though, is that I am always guaranteed an audience from Nate when I pick up one of her books.

Pretty much all through elementary school (and still, who am I kidding?) I wanted to be Laura Ingalls. She’s not so much a character as a real person, but still, I LOVED her, loved her books. made lean-tos in my woods and pretended to be her for hours, day after day.Ramona Quimby is *still* my favorite book character!
gosh, it’s so much fun to look at other peoples comments and remember those fun books. I loved Ramona too. I also remember a book about an ankle grabber… I don’t remember who it was by, but it helped my sister and I get over our fear of the dark.
I loved the American Girl Collection. I every book book and oohed and aahed over all the dolls.
One of my favorite current children’s book characters is Chico Bon Bon the Monkey with a Tool Belt in Chris Monroe’s books.

I love the tiger in “tiger flower”...once he was king of the jungle, and now he is king of the grass because a huge wind blew up one day and carried everyone away to a land where that which was big becomes small, and that which was small becomes big.
At one point he notes that he is no longer hunted, but that sometimes he is carried away in bouquets of flowers. CUTE!

I loved Nancy Drew as a child. I had two closets in my room growing up and one was set up as my library! :) My son like Mercer Mayer’s Little Critter.

Bunnies are for Kissing is an adorable book that my son loves.
I love the mouse in The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear by Don and Audrey Wood. His facial expressions are hilarious and make Molly laugh every time.

Luohi, the Witch of North Farm. She steals the sun and moon when they are at rest in the boughs of a birch tree and keeps them under lock and key. She soon finds out that the world is a sad, dark, cold place without them.
Thing One and Thing Two and all other Seuss characters are a few of my favourites.
Another favourite book from my youth is Charlotte’s Web - Wilbur, Charlotte and Templeton…I love them all.
Today, I am thinking of Frances from the Frances books (Bread and Jam for Frances, etc). She is such a cute badger! Though her friend Thelma is a bit of a brat, I love her, too!

The children’s book character for whom I am full of appreciation today is The Velveteen Rabbit (by Margery Williams). This character & story shows how love transforms. Unfortunately, I can’t read the story without weeping, so I don’t read it as often as I’d like to!
