Bloggity.
December 29, 2009

You may or may not have noticed, but there is a little button on this website that says “Behind the Blog.”  I have been making regular posts here since February or March, but this particular section of the website has remained untouched since the birth of the website.

So here’s the deal.  Blogging is, in my opinion, a large community discussion and “Behind the Blog” was originally meant to focus on and give back to that community.  The blog world – and, specifically, all of you who read this little corner of the Internet – routinely inspires me, supports me, informs me, befriends me, and gives me food for thought.

And it is high time that I returned the favor, sooooooo I am on the hunt for guinea pigs volunteers.  You can have a blog or not, can use your real name or not, can have children or not, can tell the truth or tall tales, can have blue skin or horns in your head or an elephant tattooed on your back, I don’t really care.  What I do care about is that you have a sense of humor and that you do not mind having a few of photos of your life plastered on this website.

So if you’re up for it, shoot me an e-mail at sarah [at] becomingsarah [dot] com or leave a comment below.  Let’s you and me and a bunch of other people get this show on the road!

ALSO, in other news, I have selected a winner for the Name that Picture contest and her name is Alicia.  She named the image “...sat on a wall,” which made my husband and I both laugh.  So congratulations, Alicia!  (A new contest will be announced soon.)

I know this entry is pretty dull, so I promise something extra spicy tomorrow.  Maybe a little ditty about how my hair is falling out in enormous globs and I am convinced that postpartum hormone changes will therefore leave me bald?  Or a poem about how we are royally failing at house-training Hank?  Who knows.  My life is so exciting that the possibilities are endless.

I have NO IDEA what you are up to, but I’ll try it!  You are pretty much the only blog I’ve stumbled upon (or did you stumble upon mine first?) where I’ve thought, gee, I wish I could live next door to her and be her friend.  So count me in, buddy.

I’m in!  While I’m not blue, I have a lot of tattoos.  No elephants though.  And I’m a mama.  The crunchy kind who used gDiapers, co-slept, and who wore my son from birth to, well, we still baby wear and used my boobies to feed my now 27 month old toddler.

But acceptance for non-crunchy lifestyles.  Yeah.  I do that too.

Sense of humour?  Check.  Photos plastered all over?  Check.

    xo,
    Andrea

Yeah, I have no clue what it is that I will be doing - but I am game.

I have no tattoos, but if I did, an elephant would be my pick. Also, I’m currently so cold that I am, indeed, somewhat blue. Not a flattering shade, however. Finally, I’m already a guinea pig at my own life and blog, so it seems a perfect time to expand. For my resume, of course.

I would absolutely love and adore the chance to help you with anything you need. This sounds intriguing, and I am forever in love with both of you after all of the support you gave during Jasper’s NICU stay.

Well, I’m not 100% sure what I’m getting into here but I love taking pictures and sure wouldn’t mind sharing them so I’ll come along for the ride, if you still need more people.

First off, we have the same name.  That makes us very cool!
Secondly, I follow a lot of blogs due to family obligation.  I follow yours for pure entertainment.  Would love to do anything to help you keep it going!

I don’t have blue skin - unless I’m cold, I have a tattoo that I keep hidden, and I don’t have horns - unless you’re talking to my mom.  She used to tell me my horns were showing all the time.  I could never find them though…

    HI Sarah!
I’m a fairly new to your blog but ever since I came across it I must get my daily dose of “Becoming Sarah.“ I watched Julie and Julia today and thought about you and your blog.
While I am neither married nor a parent, I am an aspiring blogger and I would love to be one of your guinea pigs! I’m intrigued what experiments you have in store for us!

    Excitedly,
    Marisol

  29. By Megan R. on December 30, 2009

I have tattoos.  My father almost killed my mother over the first one.  He told me, “Megan, you are an idiot” over my second one…at the age of 29.

I have horns.  At least according to my father.  He told me that I need to think about how I deliver my criticism to people because I “can come off as a complete bitch”.  So, check…

Blue?  Nah, but I am so pale sometimes that I am almost translucent.  Or transparent.  Or trans-something.

I don’t blog like I used to, but I do put pics up all the time…and I do love to follow your blog!

    So, count me in…for whatever!

  30. By on December 30, 2009

  43. By Kara on January 12, 2010

The fact that you even remember you have a dog is impressive enough to me! My first baby, canine baby that is, is definitely second fiddle to my human baby!

New to this game, but count me and my new camera in.
