At Turtle Rock Community Park in Irvine, after wading in the creek and before completely melting down.
Last week, my friend Erin (the same Erin who made Charlotte the dress she wore for our portraits last fall) was vacationing nearby so we packed up our littles and got together. It was so much fun seeing her and not just because I got pear sauce out of it and had two people we were able to lure into creek-wading with us. No, I think the really fun part was having an afternoon of hanging out, chatting away, and watching our two beautiful girls together. I can’t wait until they’re old enough to actually notice that the other one exists.
Notice beyond rubbing snot all over one another, that is.

Jessika - Maybe sometime you guys should visit down here at the same time? You can see everyone else, see each other, and of course SEE ME! (And Charlotte.)

I am so glad you like the pear sauce! I think it is Hannah’s second favorite thing in the universe (the first being Jessika’s applesauce). It’s really yummy with my porridge mix (equal parts barley, brown rice, oats, quinoa, and amaranth - just whiz the barley, brown rice, and oats in a coffee grinder first to chop them up a little) too. There may be more in the pantry, in case you needed some enticement to come up here for a little visit (comeupcomeupcomeupCOMEUP). ;)

Someday I’ll make it up north, SOMEDAY!
We have a Bob’s Red Mill breakfast cereal that mixes a bunch of grains like that, but I don’t know if it includes amaranth. NOW I’M CURIOUS.

By the way, Hannah is getting the biggest kick out of seeing that picture. She just grins and grins and grins, though when I ask her to say “Charlotte” she laughs and says, “No!“

I’m so very jealous! I’ve known Erin since I was (literally) in preschool. Wish I got to see her (and Hannah!) more often. Totally envious!
