Letter to my sweet pea: 8 months.
March 22, 2010

For Charlotte, my love, my dream come true,

On Saturday, you turned eight months old.

We snuggled you in bed.  We rubbed our noses against yours.  We blew raspberries on your belly.  We chuckled at your high-pitched squeals of delight.  We told you that you are one of the most adorable, wonderful, sweet, deliciously chubby beauties the world over.

We watched you crawl.  We comforted you when you bumped your head on the doorjamb.  We laughed when you squawked.  We cheered you along.  We called you Miss Fluffy Bottom and Silly Monkey.  We read I Love You, Stinky Face half a dozen times.

We cuddled with you as you napped.  We fed you barley and applesauce.  We let you feed yourself mashed avocado – and we told you that you are the prettiest, loveliest, sweetest, messiest eater on the planet.  We wiped you up and taught you to flip the light switch off.  We bonked our foreheads against yours.

We took you to visit your grandparents.  We called you Crazy Girl and Fussy Britches.  We let you squirm about on their floor and were surprised that you knew exactly where the toys were kept!  We let you pull clothes and toys out of boxes and throw them around.

We kissed your cheeks.  We giggled as you lunged for each of us whenever we left the room.  We watched you scoot across the bed.  We exclaimed over your two new teeth!  We told you that you are the best part of our lives.  We lulled you to sleep in our arms.  We listened to your deep breathing.  We fell asleep beside you, the mattress a heap of arms and legs and satisfied snores.

My lovey lovebug lovey love.

And when we woke up on Sunday morning, we reveled in our luck at having spent the past eight amazing months with perfect, precious, wonderful you.

We love you more than bears love honey (and everybody knows that’s an awful lot),
Momma and Daddy

Stephanie is awesome and you can read all about her here.  So.  You know.  DO!

I’ve taken a long vacation from my laptop over the past month, utilizing every instant of free time I have to SLEEP since I’ve gotten pregnant. So this is the first post I’ve read in a long time.

I’m so glad you read I Love You, Stinky Face. My all time favorite baby book of all the ones I’ve come across.
    Happy 8 months!

Hi!  Just discovered your blog somehow.  You know, doing that thing where you hop from blogroll to blogroll and end up somewhere cooler than you started.  Anyway, despite the fact that I have no idea how I got here, I’m glad that I did.  I just wanted to say hi, and I’ll be back.  :)
