My laundry pile does not look as cute as that.

Um, my laundry pile does not look that good. Yours is folded!!!

    Yes, Yes it does lol

Yeah, mine looks like that…if you took all of the pink out and then doubled the volume and balled it all up and jammed it into three baskets. Yep.

YES! I am that someone who tells you:
my laundry pile looks like that - not folded, but smashed in three huge baskets, waiting to be done since weeks (!).
And may I add: I don’t have any children yet ;-)

Dude. That’s way better than what we’ve got going on around here. I can get things washed and dried, but it takes 3 days to fold and put away. It’s usually a giant heap on the unused loveseat in my bedroom. My favorite part is when the cats pee on the clean piles. Jerks.

Alas, mine does not come with a cute kid.

Since my kids have flown the laundry has shrunk amazingly, Using a large capacity front loader it is TWO,  just two loads a week. Whites (includes the sheets and towels)  and a load of colored items.  Don’t hate me though, I did pay my dues when the boys lived at home. lol.

Mine looks worse too. Try four baskets and one re-purposed garbage can…half clean….half dirty…and somewhat covered in cat and dog hair. I’m afraid we may have to do it all again. SIGH.

Yep and yep. Washing and drying is no problem. Folding and putting away? Can’t happen while children are awake.

If only Charlotte sat amidst the clean towels and unsorted sox !~!

My husband does the laundry and he is very prompt about folding it. Or maybe he does it BECAUSE he is very prompt about folding it and my method of letting it sit around until I’m ready to wear it drives him crazy.

Yes!! With a toddler jumping on them and throwing the clothes I just folded EVERYWHERE!! :)

Haha. My pile could swallow your pile whole. I have clothed that need to be folded in the rocking chair, on the folding table, on our bed, in Bugs chair next to her crib. And then theirs the overflowing hampers that need to be washed. But on the upside Bug thinks sock puppets are hilarious.

This makes me feel SOOOOOOO much better you have no idea. I am always stressed out about this huge pile of clean laundry I have to fold and put away. It seems like a weird thing to stress out about but I am always BURIED in housework it feels like. I am here thinking I must be the only one but I am glad I have good company in the fight against the laundry! I guess I just need to relax and let the boys play in it, I was starting to feel like I couldn’t enjoy my boys because I should have a clean house and there is ALWAYS more cleaning to be done. But since I feel so much better now I think I might just give it a break! Thank you for posting this!

Oh and one cute thing about my 9 month old (I have a 9 month old and a 2 year old) every time I am trying to fold laundry he makes this hilarious wookie noise (I call him little chewey) and rips through them all haha!

  16. By on October 28, 2011

Mine looks the same, if not worse. Must run in the family ;-)

Laundry is the one thing I actually TRY to maintain… now if you saw my dirty dishes pile… that’s a different story.

When it was just me and my husband and step-daughter, I used to be neurotic about folding the laundry while it was all still warm from the dryer and organizing them all to a tee. It’s the baby clothes, man! A whole basket of microscopic junk to go through at the same time you have a newborn to tend to (and by that I mean snuggle for hours on end) is just way too daunting for even the more organized person in the world. I’m still a psychopath about making sure all of our drawers are organized and stuff, but I wash clothes four days a week (now that we’re a family of five) and only fold on one.

I wish my pile looked that well loved! My dirty laundry could fill your room! My large capacity washer running almost around the clock day in and day out and yet it is never done. Dishes and laundry are a full time job around here. Mind you we have 8 1/2 children, so no it is not a shopping fetish!

If I could attach a photo to this comment, you would see we had twin piles. Right now I have an over flowing basket in the laundry room. At least yours is washed and ready to be put away!

    Yep, all the time.  Sigh.

We have a pretty good system that is CONSTANTLY changing… However, it’s pretty manageable. I do all my washing after 9:00 PM to save on water delivery prices. I usually do one load a night, hang it to dry on some racks and fold it the next morning. So far so good… Most of the time.

Other times it looks like a Value Village threw up all over our bedroom floor.
