Roaring face.
August 13, 2010

Although she cannot go much farther than a quarter-mile, Charlotte has been toddling along ON HER OWN for our evening walks lately.  Of course, a quarter-mile with a toddler walking independently takes about seven times as long as a quarter-mile with a toddler in a carrier because we have to stop every twenty seconds to make faces at one another.

    Hehe….*roaring back*

Jude does this monster voice…something in between a roar and a growl. He likes to chat in this voice sometimes:

    “Maaaaaamaaaaaa….oooooaaahhhh….maaa-da-da…grrrrrrr”

    LOL

ok….LOVE her outfit!!!  cutest thing ever!

and, Finnley has wanted to start toddling on her own, too…and she has only been walking for about 1.5 weeks now.  Yikes!  it takes forever, but she is fiercely proud of herself…I have to admit, I am pretty proud, too!

Mailis - SO CUTE!  We keep trying to video tape Charlotte’s growling and roaring, but it’s useless.  Every time we break it out, she’s like OOH, SOMETHING SHINY, and it’s over.  Does Jude do that too?

Megan - Isn’t it the cutest thing ever?  We’ve pretty much stopped going places over the last couple weeks because Char just wants to re-explore everything around here.  I could watch her toddle around, stopping to feel up every tree trunk in sight, ALL DAY LONG.  It’s so freaking adorable!

It is the cutest thing ever.  We went to a local fine arts street festival this weekend, and Finnley toddled about the whole thing.  She circled a food tent at least 4 times….little arms in the air to hold her balance.  About 5 million (give or take a few) people stopped to watch her or talk to us.  ADORABLE is an understatement.  Oh, and dangerous.  Very dangerous.  ha!

Megan - Oh my goodness, DANGEROUS, so true!  It wasn’t until Char started walking that I suddenly realized that everything in the entire world is potentially hazardous…

Also, why are there so many steps and slopes?  Going up, I don’t worry about her, she can hold her own.  But going down, those little legs build up some momentum and she just can’t keep her balance up!

This might be my most favorite photo of her ever.
