I bought Charlotte this tub of sidewalk chalk in the hopes that it was large enough to last me until I figured out how to make it myself.
Of course, I seriously underestimated her love of sidewalk chalk…

I picked up a cheap pack on a whim the other day that only had four pieces. All that is left less than a week later are little bits of each… that stuff goes too quick.

Sara - I don’t know how to yet. But maybe before the next box of sidewalk chalk is gone I will! One can dream, at least =)

Sarah, have you seen the recipes online using Plaster of Paris and powdered tempera paint? It seem pretty simple but would that be homemade enough or were you looking for a recipe totally from scratch? I’m curious to hear what you come up with!

ooh, you must teach us how to make sidewalk chalk. We LOVE chalk, and we’re only 12 months. I see much sidewalk writing this coming summer….
