Today, 38 months.
September 20, 2012

Today, I was going to write about the book I am reading (Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth) and how it is blowing my mind.  The way I read these books three years ago differs so significantly from how I read them today.

Today, I was going to post a letter to my daughter to celebrate her having made us a family thirty-eight months ago.  Thirty-eight months.  Amazing.

Today, I was going to update this blog and my Facebook page with current pregnancy photographs.  My belly seems to expand exponentially by the hour.

While I was snapping this of Charlotte yesterday…

But today, the sun peeped through under the shade and I asked my husband to pull it tighter and I nestled up against my daughter and we slept and nursed and slept and nursed and woke up an hour late.

And today, Charlotte wanted to talk about traditions – about how our family celebrates birthdays and holidays, about what we eat at different times of the year and how different people celebrate different festivals.  So we decided to eat a slow breakfast because we were simultaneously planning our family’s Autumn Equinox celebration instead.  It is time to establish family traditions, I suppose.

And today, we thought it might be fun to visit the park with some friends.  And to scooter down the road clanging the bell on her handlebars as loudly as possible.  And to frolic in the lawn, dreaming dreams of what our family and our home will look like a year from now.

...she was snapping this of me!

Maybe I’ll get around to those other things tomorrow.  Today, I think, is going to belong to my darling little girl.

Love the photo of you. I love it when my children snap photos of me. Well sort of. I don’t really like having my photo taken.

My favorite pregnancy book of all time!
I wished Ina May had delivered my babies!
